About the Tannery
Based in the town of Ostashkov in Russia's Tver region, "Volga Tannery" is the oldest Tannery in the country. It was founded in 1730.
Centuries of tanning traditions, knowledge and experience accumulated by several generations of Seliger's tanners, combined with innovative technologies and modern equipment, allow us to create a unique quality leather product. We believe that continuous investment and modernisation of the Tannery's production facilities and technologies will allow us to maintain our best traditions: perfect quality and excellence of our craftsmen.

Here at the Tannery we are always ready to go an extra mile to meet our customers’ expectations.
Our goal is to create a unique leather product that perfectly meets the needs of each of our clients. That is why a personal approach has been laid at the heart of the Tannery’s operations. Existing technical equipment of the Tannery allows us to develop samples tailored to the needs of our customers, up to creation of fundamentally new articles in a unique finish.
We are happy to see that our efforts in building customer-oriented work ethics are paying off as many first class global brands from Europe, Asia and Russia have become our existing clients.

Volga Tannery is not only proud of its rich, almost three hundred-year history, but also for the fact that over the centuries dynasties of Ostashkov Tannery workers have been formed.
Volga Tannery success is based on the experience, dedication and creative approach of its employees. Their professionalism, responsibility and ability to find best possible solutions to any production task make them the Tannery's most valuable asset.
Being one of the largest employers in the Tver Region, Volga Tannery provides employment to over 1 200 people.

Strategic value
Based on the results of the meeting of the Government Committee on economic development of March 20, 2020 the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia included JSC “Volga Tannery” in the list of strategically important enterprises for the Russian economy.
JSC "Volga Tannery" actively cooperates with federal and regional ministries and state funds, such as Russian Fund of Technological Development, the Ministry for Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry for Industry and Information Technologies of Tver Region.
Active participation in the state program of import substitution is one of the main objectives of the Tannery.
