Volga Tannery has become the very first Tannery in Russia to achieve the highest Best in Class “A” Grade for its Environmental Sustainability Performance as a result of the latest Inditex Group’s “Sustainable Manufacturing for green to wear products” audit.
Inditex has launched “Join Life” label back in 2015 as a step further toward the manufacturing of safe and sustainable fashion. “Join Life” is an environmental labelling standard characterized by seeking excellent environmental attributes.
To meet Join Life excellence standard Volga Tannery was evaluated under several indicators:
Environmental Audit
Social Audit
Environmental Attribute
Only few manufactures managed to achieve the Best in Class grade under “Join Life” global project certification. Volga Tannery is now one of the few.
Such an outstanding result means that the Tannery fully complies with Inditex’s most stringent “Clear to Wear and Safe to Wear” requirements and makes the Tannery one of the important leather suppliers for companies that produce shoes and leather garments for Inditex.
Inditex is one of the world's largest fashion retailers, with eight brands (Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home and Uterqüe) selling in 202 markets through its online platform or its over 7,000 stores in 96 markets.
